Free Keyword Research- Part 3-- Last, But Not Least!

Ok, by now you have some really powerful internet marketing strategies for doing Free Keyword Research. But what if you don't have any clue where to even start??

Have no fear, Niche Terms Of Desperation are here!!

The following are terms that people use when they are searching for a solution to a problem. Find out what problems people are having, plant yourself in front of them with a solution, and earn income!

Niche Terms Of Desperation:

  • Alleviate

  • Control

  • Create

  • Cure

  • Do It Yourself

  • Get Rid Of

  • Increase

  • Make

  • Relieve

  • Remove

  • Solve

Now I bet your question is, "What the heck am I supposed to do with these???"

The answer:

Go to http://www.google.com/ and type one of these terms in the search box. For example, type in "alleviate a" (without the quotes).

Google will give you 10 KWP that start with your search request (sometimes there might be less). You can go through the alphabet and different phrases will display; "alleviate b", "alleviate c", "alleviate d", etc.

Don't forget to use the Google Keyword Tool to find the number of searches, just like we talked about in Part 1, and once you have a keyword phrase you want to tackle, don't forget to check your competition.

Do this using all the terms above and you will find infinite problems where you can provide the solutions.

Until next time!

Free Keyword Research- Part 2

Now that you know how to find profitable keywords, how would you like to spy on your competition? I know of a site that allows you to conduct the best Competitive Intelligence possible. It's called http://www.spyfoo.com/.

There is a Free version and a Subscription version, but since I'm all about doing things for as little money as possible, we'll stick with the Free version...for now.

Basically, http://www.spyfoo.com/ allows you to "spy" on your Google Adwords competitors. You might be asking yourself, "Why would I want to do that?" Here's the answer...

If someone is paying for ads for a specific keyword (i.e. the keywords you found using Part 1 of Free Keyword Research), then that keyword (KW) or keyword phrase (KPW) is making them money.

"When you know how much a keyword costs, you can take that into account when you are writing search optimized content for your website." -Spyfoo website

If a keyword is cheap with very little traffic (see Free Keyword Research- Part 1), then you might not want to include it in, let's say, Article Marketing.

On the other hand, if a keyword is expensive and gets a lot of traffic, then you should be using it in any content that you create.

All you have to do is enter your KW or KWP into the Search box on the Home page of http://www.spyfoo.com/ and your results are returned.

Look for keywords that fit into the criteria we talked about in Free Keyword Research- Part 1 and also have a cost per click of at least $.30 (30 cents USD).

That's what I use the Free subscription for; and of course, the paid subscription has a lot more bells and whistles.

In the end, the choice is up to you!!

Free Keyword Research- Part 1

Keyword research is so confusing, especially for Newbies. It seems like the gurus forget that they were Newbies at one time, too. In this economic climate, it's not practical to think that everyone can afford the latest and greatest keyword search tool.

So this is for the Newbies, that have just been laid off and don't want to work for 'The Man' anymore; that are single Parents trying to make ends meet; and that are tired of being scammed into spending money they don't have.

Free Keyword Research!

First, open 2 browser windows. One for Google's Free Keyword Tool and the other for http://www.google.com/.

In the Free Keyword Tool, the selection "Descriptive Words or Phrases is all ready chosen. Leave it like that.

Enter your keywords/phrases, one per line. UNCHECK the "Use Synonyms" box.

Click "Get keyword ideas". Enter the security code.

Once the results load, filter the column "Approx Avg Search Volume" so the numbers are in descending order. This number represents the number of people, on average, that are searching for the term every month. You want to see monthly searches from at least 1,500, but no more than 10,000.

Next, go to the other browser window that is open to http://www.google.com/.

Search for your keyword phrases (KWP) with quotes:

For example, "dvd player".

The numbers in the red circle above are the numbers you want to pay attention to. This number represents the number of competitors you would be up against in Google. You want this number to be between 1,000-5,000.

Once you find keyword phrases that fit these two requirements, you can easily dominate Google by writing articles and/or creating blogs. This is the easiest way I have found to do Free Keyword Research.
